The Center for Arkansas Legal Services is a non-profit
organization that delivers legal help to low-income
people in civil matters. They give advice about legal
problems and provide legal representation to clients who
qualify. Clients are represented by a staff attorney or
by a private attorney who volunteers his/her time. The
Center for Arkansas Legal Services does not charge for
services initial interview, all later meetings and all
attorney fees are free. However, you may be responsible
for paying court costs.
The Center for Arkansas Legal Services:
- Gives assistance to resident who
incomes are at or below Federal poverty guidelines.
- Provides help for people in
Crawford, Franklin, Logan, Scott and Sebastian
counties.
- Is one of only two legal service
programs in Arkansas.
- Takes applications by phone and
schedules appointments does not give free legal
advice over the phone.
