Mitzy Little, marketing director for the United Way of Fort Smith Area, said the professional golf tournament was a success with an economic impact to Fort Smith estimated to be about $1 million from the tournament that started Tuesday.
Little said the tournament raised $88,000 for participating United Way community partner agencies.
Volunteers were a key to the success, she added.
“The United Way of Fort Smith Area has five staff members. We could not pull this tournament together without the help from this volunteer committee!” Little said.
