$2 per week/$104 per year or the cost of a premium coffee

  • Job training for one disabled person.
  • Summer camp for one financially challenged Boys & Girls Club member.
  • Year’s subscription to a legal publication for a staff attorney.
  • Panoramic film for x-rays for 50 dental patients.
  • A child’s food every two weeks through the Backpack Program.

$5 per week/$260 per year or the cost of a deli sandwich

  • Year of bowling for an intellectually, physically or developmentally disabled child or adult.
  • Bingo prizes for participants for a year.
  • Seven months of family activities for moms and children.
  • A coat and birthday celebration for two girls.

$10 per week/$520 per year or the cost of one lunch out

  • Year’s supply of arts and crafts materials.
  • Resources for outside recreational activities, educational trips and materials for troubled youth.
  • Refurbished laptop computers for off-site training.

$20 per week/$1040 per year or the cost of one dinner out

  • 20 clients with new full-size beds upon leaving shelter and moving into their own safe housing.
  • Funding for after-school “Power Hour” and arts and crafts.
Planned Giving
A planned gift may include gifts of stock, bonds, mutual funds, or real estate, given to United Way of Fort Smith Area either as an outright gift or a gift in a bequest, trust or gift annuity. Planned giving not only allows you to demonstrate your commitment to people in need, it can be an important element of your overall financial, philanthropic and estate planning.

Endowment
The United Way Endowment provides perpetual assistance to the people of the United Way service area. It ensures that the work of the United Way and its agencies continues into the future. The Endowment allows the United Way to allocate 100% of the annual campaign to United Way agencies and initiatives.

Wills or Bequests
In addition to providing for your family, your will can designate United Way of Fort Smith Area as a beneficiary. You may give a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or all of what remains after providing for the important people in your life.

Retirement Plans
You can make United Way of Fort Smith Area a beneficiary of your IRA or retirement plan. This option is an especially effective way to minimize estate taxes.

Appreciated Securities

When you choose to give to United Way of Fort Smith Area, you complete a pledge form that asks you to provide us with your name, address, e-mail address and pledge information. United Way of Fort Smith Area will not rent, trade, sell or share any information about its donors.

Access to information
United Way of Fort Smith Area employees who may access your information in order to perform pledge processing and administrative functions are prohibited from disclosing your information to third parties.

Names printed in United Way of Fort Smith Area recognition materials are a matter of public record. If you do not want your name to appear, please indicate your gift is anonymous.

Organizations that provide operational or other support services to us must also agree to safeguard your information in strict compliance with our privacy policy.
