United Way of Fort Smith Area is excited to announce that Touch-A-Truck will be on June 21st in the parking lot of Van Buren High School. Touch-A-Truck is a FREE Child Safety and Wellness Event. It will take place from 10 am to 2 pm. In case of inclement weather, follow our social media for any changes.
Touch-A-Truck allows children of all ages to see, touch, and explore life-size vehicles and interact with community support leaders like police officers, firefighters, construction workers, military personnel, and many more! You can expect to see construction and farm equipment, safety and transportation vehicles, motorcycles, emergency vehicles, the Air Evac Helicopter, and military vehicles.
Arvest Bank will grill hot dogs for lunch. The event also serves an educational value besides being great entertainment for the children. Several tables will be set up with literature available on a wide variety of child safety and wellness topics.
Touch-A-Truck is exclusively designed with children in mind, although big kids enjoy the experience just as much. It’s an event that allows children to see trucks and vehicles up close and from the inside, something they might not otherwise ever have the chance to do. Parents, Boys and Girls Clubs, preschool programs, Mother’s Day Out groups, daycares, and church groups are encouraged to bring their children out for a great day of fun and learning!
